Wedding Venues

Over the years we have had the opportunity to photograph our beautiful couples at many different venues. We are often asked if we have photographed at certain venues. Each venue is so unique and each wedding is very unique too. Having experience photographing at a venue can be helpful in some ways but if we have not photographed at a venue rest assure that you will not be missing out on anything and your photography experience will still be nothing less than delightful.

If we have not photographed at a certain venue we do some things to make up for not having that prior experience. We get online and we research the venue. We check out where other photographers have photographed. We get familiar with the location using google maps. We can get a really good idea of what the venue will be like with out having to have been there before.

To get more familiar with a venue we will sometimes scope out the venue at some point prior to your big day. We take a walk around and look at the potential for certain photo opportunities. We will also take some photos of our favorite spots for reference.

On the day of the wedding we will be arriving to the venue early to really get a lay of the land. This scouting is very helpful. We will be able to know how your reception is set up, how the ceremony is set up and any other set ups. Scouting on the day of is also really helpful since the weather will be a factor in how we photograph that day. For instance Is it really bright sunny, is it cloudy, or is it raining, is there fog? There are many other variables that would be important that we could only know about on that day of your wedding.

Last but not least, we use an app that tells us where the sun will be at in the sky throughout the day. This is really good for planning where to do the family photos and other portrait photos later in the day. You can never be too prepared.

From venue to venue wedding to wedding it will always be different. It will look different, the weather will be different, the lighting will be different, the times will be different, the schedule will be different, the people will be different and so on. There are lots of variables but the one thing that is the same is that all our couples want their photos to tell their individual stories in a visually appealing way. It won’t matter if we have photographed that venue a hundred times or never before.
